Betsy Cornwell

Betsy Cornwell has taught in the Austin Independent School District (AISD) for thirty years and is Theatre Director at Bowie High School. She is a past president of the Texas Educational Theatre Association, has received the organization’s Founder’s Award, and has served as Convention Director three times. She has served on the Fine Arts Curriculum Task Force for the AISD and helped to develop the Texas Education Agency’s first Fine Arts video series, Portraits of Excellence: Fine Arts in Texas Schools, which is broadcast over the T-Star Network. In 2002, Betsy Cornwell was chosen by the Center for Educator Development in Fine Art (CEDFA) to be featured in a multi-media presentation on the CEDFA website.
